This week we hop across to North America and Asia and see what new hotels and resorts have either just hit the market or are about to soon. From luxury tent retreats in the Utah desert and old Hollywood glamour in LA, to secluded Japanese retreats and stunning tropical island getaways, the number of enticing new options is impressive. 

We’ve whittled the list down to our top 10, which wasn’t easy with so many amazing locations to choose from.

Camp Sarika by Amangiri, Utah
The other worldly landscape of towering mesas, slot canyons and rust-coloured sands creates a dramatic backdrop for the tented retreat of Camp Sarika. This tented retreat is a new offering from the established Amangiri, a renowned sandstone hideaway located in the heart of Utah’s desert. A short drive or hike from the main hotel, this intimate, back-to-the-wild experience takes glamping to the next level, with each of the camp’s 10 canvas-topped pavilions offering a private plunge pool. You’ll also find a shared lounge, restaurant and pool area, all set against one of the most geologically dramatic places on Earth.

Four Seasons Napa Valley
Set within a world-class vineyard, the just opened Four Seasons Napa Valley invites you to live your best life in the food and wine capital of North America. Here you will discover innovative and seasonal cuisine and holistic spa rituals, paired with the thoughtfully personalised service that Four Seasons is known for. Boasting 85 rooms, other notable features include a full-service day spa, two restaurants and an outdoor pool and spa tub.  

Pendry West Hollywood
Newly opened, Pendry West Hollywood embraces the best of California modernism with old Hollywood glamor. Set on one of Los Angeles’ most famed streets, The Sunset Strip, on the former site of the House of Blues, this sophisticated hotel lies at the heart of LA’s rich film, music and cultural history – and pulses with an energy all its own. The 149 guestrooms and suites offer sweeping views across Los Angeles and up to the Hollywood Hills, while the culinary offering is overseen by legendary chef, Wolfgang Puck. Other luxurious features include an in-house spa and a rooftop pool.

Six Senses New York
Six Senses New York is a key element of the highly-anticipated new development The XI, which sees two unique, twisting towers rise above The High Line in Manhattan’s vibrant West Chelsea neighbourhood. Set to open in 2022 (and taking the honour of being the first North American property for Six Senses), the hotel will boast 137 contemporary guests rooms, designed by celebrated Parisian firm Gilles & Boissier, along with two restaurants and a Six Senses Spa. 

1 Hotel Hanalei Bay, Hawaii
Combining luxury, wellness and sustainability. 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay is set to become one of the world’s premier wellness sanctuaries when it opens on Kauai’s North Shore. Located in one of the most beautiful places you’ll ever visit, the hotel will feature 252 rooms boasting views of lush gardens, soaring mountains and sparkling Hanalei Bay. Formerly operating as St Regis Princeville Resort, the property will reopen in early 2022 after a multimillion dollar redevelopment.

The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon, Japan
Conveniently located just steps away from Tokyo’s best neighbourhoods and attractions, The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon offers an unprecedented intersection between tasteful designs, innovation and elevated service. Showcasing premier dining, entertainment and amenities under one roof, this boutique hotel in downtown Tokyo offers an oasis of sophistication. Since opening late last year, this highly sought after hotel has been impressing guests with its 206 hotel rooms and suites with iconic views of the Tokyo skyline, three restaurants (one of which includes an outdoor terrace overlooking Tokyo Tower), three lounge bars and a custom designed spa. 

Aman Kyoto, Japan
Find your inner zen at the stunning Aman Kyoto. Sitting just a short walk from the Golden Pavilion temple, the Aman Kyoto is a place where nature steals the show. Capella Hanoi, Vietnam

Kimpton Kitalay Samui, Thailand
